Google has rolled out yet another feature to it’s popular Google My Business platform. In previous months, the company brought back it’s “business description” feature, introduced the “menu items” feature for pubs and restaurants and added the “services feature” for all small businesses. Now select small business owners will be able to add videos and photos to their “Google posts” section within their business listing.

Last month, we published a blog post on important questions to ask before hiring an SEO company. The reality is many business owners are on the ropes about whether to outsource their SEO and digital marketing efforts or to do the work on their own. Large corporations can afford to hire an SEO specialist and have them work in house. Many small businesses and startups don’t have that luxury. There are many things to consider if you’re an entrepreneur in this position and the biggest factor to consider is time.

Search engine optimization is complex process that requires plenty of strategy and it takes time before results are seen with any SEO campaign. There are some businesses that can do minimal SEO and still rank well; especially if they’re a local business with little competition. If your products and services cater to a national or even an international audience, then the SEO strategy needed to succeed becomes even more sophisticated. Reputation management is a very important aspect of a small business’ digital marketing strategy. Consumer opinion is largely based on the number of positive reviews your brand has on important citation listings like Yelp, Manta and Google My Business. This is especially true in an age where mapping systems are becoming more sophisticated and mobile searches are dominating desktop searches. When a business receives a negative review and doesn’t address it or discovers it several months later, they could potentially have lost out on thousands of dollars in revenue.

It’s no secret that Nashville, Tennessee’s job and real estate market have exploded over the last decade. That trend continues and is coming to the once neglected City Heights section of Midtown Nashville. E3 Construction Services LLC will be building a mixed-use development on a 2 ½ acre plot near the corner of Clifton and 25th avenues. The $40M development will be called “The Connect at City Heights” and will feature a mixed-income residential building, a 400-vehicle parking garage, retail shops, restaurants and potentially a small grocery store.

Alternatives To Facebook Stock Photo

Some of the world’s largest social networks have been in hot water lately. Namely, Facebook who unethically sold private user data to third parties including London’s Cambridge Analytica. Youtube is completely demonetizing users while Twitter was caught in the middle of the Project Veritas operation. Facebook, Youtube and Twitter have also gone to great lengths to censor dissenting opinions on their networks which has created a poor user experience and millions of frustrated users. As one might expect, social media users are jumping ship from some of the largest social media networks and opting for alternative platforms that are slowly becoming household names.
