Google has added yet another feature to it’s popular Google My Business platform following a slew of updates over the last few months. With Google My Business’ new API, business owners will now be able to manage an unlimited number of businesses using just one account. Previously, business owners were only able to manage up to 100 locations using one Google My Business account. Most small businesses may only have one or two locations, however, the new API will make life much easier for brands with franchises all over the United States.
Google My Business is the most important citation listing a local business could have and provides potential customers with vital business information like phone number, address, customer reviews and hours of operation. Other changes include easier navigation to manage listings, an easier way to send and receive invitations for other users that need access to the account, and the ability for the account owner to create user groups and control certain access levels for other users. According to Google, more than 1/3 of all searches made on mobile devices are made with a geolocation in mind.
The new API is launching in conjunction with a new “partners program” that has SEO companies and digital marketing agencies in mind. The partners program will allow these types of companies to manager their clients’ Google My Business accounts with one login. Pretty cool.
