Foursquare Merges With Factual
Foursquare, a location-based social network headquartered in New York City, will be merging with Factual, a repository for location data. Foursquare will retain it’s name and become the face of the two companies. David Shim will continue to operate as the CEO of Foursquare while Factual’s Gil Elbaz and Foursquare’s Dennis Crowley will serve as executives. Before serving as CEO of Foursquare, David Shim founded Placed, a location intelligence platform that was acquired by Foursquare in 2019.
Asurion Opening New Headquarters In Downtown Nashville
Asurion, a technology solutions company that employees more than 17,000 people, has received a state grant for it’s new headquarters in downtown Nashville. The headquarters will be located in the former building of The Tennessean newspaper which is located at the corner of Church Street and 11th Avenue North. Asurion officials have stated that when they open operations at their new headquarters, they will hire an additional 400 workers. The company has been operating in Nashville, Tennessee since the early 2000’s.

Business Owners Can Now Manage Unlimited Locations With Google My Business
Google has added yet another feature to it’s popular Google My Business platform following a slew of updates over the last few months. With Google My Business’ new API, business owners will now be able to manage an unlimited number of businesses using just one account. Previously, business owners were only able to manage up to 100 locations using one Google My Business account. Most small businesses may only have one or two locations, however, the new API will make life much easier for brands with franchises all over the United States.

Google Adwords Discontinuing Old Interface Fall 2018
Last year, Google introduced a new Google Adwords interface that was met with plenty of criticism from long-time Adwords users. As a result, Google allowed account owners to switch back and forth between the older and newest versions of the Adwords interface. The old interface will be officially retired for good in either late September or October of 2018.
